Karthik Dev. IT man by day, stagehand by [NP] night.
Karthik is a crucial part of the NP/NIGHTS family. He serves on our Production Team as a stagehand and is NEVER without a smile. Not only is he a huge help in pulling off our Sunday evening service, he is a crucial part of our team and family. We sat down with Karthik and let him tell us what he loves about NP/NIGHTS, about serving, and about our city.
What is your favorite food?
Mediterranean and Vietnamese
What are you watching on Netflix these days, Karthik?
Love watching military movies and documentaries. Currently ongoing…Narcos series.
What is your favorite Alpharetta hang spot?
Pinkberry at Avalon
Us, too, Karthik. Us too.
What is your favorite part about NP/NIGHTS?
We are providing an opportunity for close connection to people who don’t know Christ.
What is your favorite song at NP/NIGHTS?
“My Heart Is Yours”
Why do you serve?
When describing why he serves, Karthik’s answer was profoundly simple. It’s a truth we hope everyone that attends NP/NIGHTS hears and absorbs: Jesus loves us endlessly, and our job is to share that love with others through this community.
Because he loves me. He died for me. He has given me purpose.
What is your favorite part about serving?
And now, a mic drop moment from Karthik Dev . . .
In this day and age, people are considered to be important for so many different reasons: titles, position, possessions, where they go, what they drive. But God’s value system is quite different from the value system of the world. God cherishes and values you simply because he made you.
What do you most look forward to about attending NP/NIGHTS?
Again! Karthik for the win! This wise and soulful guy simply pointed us to a Chinese proverb that says it all. He’s not being told things at NP/NIGHTS; he’s not being shown things at NP/NIGHTS. He is a part of things at NP/NIGHTS.
The Chinese Proverb says, “Tell me and I’ll forget. Show me and I may remember. Involve me and I’ll understand.”
What is one crucial thing you’ve learned since becoming a part of NP/NIGHTS?
To Karthik, NP/NIGHTS isn’t a service he attends, it’s a we that he is a part of. It’s something he feels pride participating in and something he feels ownership of. He isn’t showing up to just sing songs and gain something from the message. He’s showing up, learning, and growing with NP/NIGHTS. Karthik says it best. He says,
We’ve started this service, we are learning, and we will be learning new things.
This guy is in to win it with NP/NIGHTS.
So, that’s Karthik. He is just one of the multiple game changers you’ll find investing their time and hearts into NP/NIGHTS. You’ll find him on Sundays in the West Auditorium at NPCC doing his thing and wearing the flyest shoes in the place (don’t miss out on those; he’s got seriously cool kicks). Go up and meet him; you won’t regret it. He can probably tell you the location of all the best Mediterranean spots in the ATL.
